Ed Gandorf
Director, Strategic Intelligence
Ed Gandorf has 19 years of strategic analysis and market research experience. Gandorf has been with MapInfo for eight years, providing strategic, competitive and market insights to support the company’s strategic directions and assist with market and product planning, and merger and acquisitions activities. Gandorf has extensive experience in a wide range of analytic methods and projects, from strategic planning, market analysis, competitive intelligence and financial analysis. In his role, he assists with the development and implementation of strategic planning processes for the company; creates strategic briefings for executives and the board and produces industry analyses that identifies key trends and competitive positioning to help the company define and lead in its marketspace. Gandorf is involved the Society of Competitive Intelligence Professionals and has spoken as an expert at various conferences. Prior to MapInfo, Gandorf was business group leader for the Lighting Research Center, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. He was also a senior research analyst for the New York State Department of Taxation and Finance and the New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services. Gandorf holds a B.A. in Political Science/Economics from the State University of New York at Albany, a Masters of Public Administration/Policy analysis from the Rockefeller Graduate School of Public Affairs State University of New York at Albany and a MBA from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
Will Wilbrink
Chief Solutions Architect
Will Wilbrink is the Chief Solutions Architect at MapInfo Corporation. He advises the executive team on future trends in the Geographic Information Systems and Information Technology industries. Wilbrink has been instrumental in the development of mobile and web services technologies at MapInfo.
As the technology representative for MapInfo at the OpenGIS Consortium, he is charged with advancing the adoption of open geospatial technology both within MapInfo and the broader GIS community. Wilbrink serves as the chair of the Open Location Services Revision Working Group, working with leading GIS vendors in a consensus manner to define interfaces for Location Based Services and Navigation technologies.
Mr. Wilbrink has spoken on the subject of mobile location aware technologies for several years. He has communicated the benefits of this technology to the IT industry through the media by granting interviews, writing columns and speaking at prestigious industry events, including CTIA Wireless, JavaOne and ACORD.
With a life long passion for maps, Wilbrink has been actively working in the GIS industry since 1987. In 1995, he chaired the Tcl/Tk conference in Toronto, Ontario that first introduced that community to GIS technology.
Wilbrink is a 1982 graduate of the Ohio Institute of Technology, with a degree in Electronics Engineering. In 1999, he achieved certification as a Java 2 Platform programmer.
Jon Winslow
Director of Development and Strategy for Location Intelligence Solutions
Jon Winslow is the director of development and strategy for location intelligence solutions at MapInfo Corporation. During his ten-year tenure at MapInfo, he has played a key role in developing the company’s international strategy with regard to predictive analytics and market analysis solutions and the integration of location capabilities with business intelligence platforms.
Winslow is recognized as an expert on the impact of location on business processes and consumer behavior. His recent analysis on the 2004 Presidential Election and the impact of neighborhood-level demographics has been written up in American Demographics magazine and several other market-analysis journals. He has also been quoted as an expert source in publications as varied as the Wall Street Journal and Directions Magazine. Winslow recently returned from a one-month assignment in Australia where he analyzed the dynamics of the retail market and the demand for location-dependent, analytical solutions.
Prior to joining MapInfo, Winslow was with Claritas Inc. in the area of business development. At Claritas, Winslow was responsible for managing technology relationships with partners in a variety of industries with a special focus on technology companies and geographic market analysis. Before joining Claritas, Winslow worked for the NYC Department of Education and the law firm of Cravath, Swaine and Moore. Winslow received his graduate and under-graduate degrees from Binghamton University.
Devon Wolfe
Global Practice Leader — Retail, Restaurants, and Real Estate
Devon Wolfe serves as the Global Practice Leader — Retail, Restaurants, and Real Estate MapInfo Corporation. In this capacity, Devon directs all aspects of predictive analytics client management, thought leadership, and new methodological development. Devon’s core professional practice is in learning customer requirements and providing cutting-edge research design to assist in site and market strategy. In addition, Devon guides the implementation of analytical techniques into the MapInfo AnySite and AnySite Online product lines.
Devon has been involved in location research for nearly 20 years, having started as a market analyst at the Walgreen Company of Deerfield, Illinois. He joined Thompson Associates (acquired by MapInfo in 2003) in 1990, and was instrumental in building the company’s retail modeling practice. Devon holds a bachelor’s degree in geography and has completed coursework for a master’s degree in geography, both at the University of Chicago.
